About — The Limelight

Started by Columbia College Chicago students Bri Gartrell, Adi Raghavan, Rachel Manlubatan, and Kaia Morrison-Burks, The Limelight is an online publication consisting of blogs, podcasts, E-zines, playlists, videos, and live events. Our team hopes to become a network for creative voices to find their place in their respective industries. From conducting interviews with local creatives to curating art we believe should get more love, The Limelight acts as a safe space for up-and-coming artists to bask in the spotlight! We are always looking for artists practicing any medium, including musicians, bands, photographers, poets, writers, filmmakers, and fashion designers, to be featured in our many formats. Bri Gartrell

Founder, Podcast Host & Producer

Based in the DMV and Chicago, Bri is The Limelight’s Podcast host and producer. Bri is a 2nd-Year Radio major at Columbia College Chicago and hopes to use this experience to further her career in the industry.

Adi Raghavan

Editor-in-Chief of The Limelight Blog

Based in the DMV and Chicago, Adi is a 3rd-year student at Columbia College Chicago. Pursuing degrees in Music Business and Marketing at Columbia, she has stepped into the role of Editor-in-Chief of The Limelight's blog page. Passionate about the amplification and protection of creative voices, she hopes that her work with The Limelight can facilitate a community for those seeking it.

Rachel Manlubatan

Social Media Coordinator & Graphic Designer

Based in Chicago, Rachel is a second-year student at Columbia College Chicago. She is majoring in Graphic Design with a minor in Video Production and is excited to use both skills to collaborate on The Limelight and create safe spaces for every type of artist.

Kaia Morrison-Burks

Graphic Designer

Based in Chicago, Kaia is in her final year at Columbia College Chicago. While she is majoring in Graphic Design, she plans to use her creative skills and other relevant facets to aid The Limelight in its mission to uplift and support creatives in every aspect.
